birthday week is over.  we're going  into hiding for awhile.  taking a much needed break from the festivities.  shhhhhh.  don't tell anyone.  it's a secret. ;)

in case you're wondering, we're still celebrating.  today marks the end of it.  noah's superhero in training party and mike's much lower-key, but still totally fun and all-about-him party this evening. :) 

mike's a good sport.  he really is.  his birthday is always at the tail end of two sometimes over-the-top celebrations.  he's happy to enjoy a quiet evening at home with his family.  i love that about him.  i will add, however, that we do celebrate him with food and love and a gift or two.  this morning i made him banana muffins and coffee -- so it's not like he has it all that bad. ;)

april is a big month at our house.  75% of the birthdays take place in the last week + 1 day of april. :)  here's a glimpse of last weekend's festivities:

so today i'm asking a question.  and i'd love for you to weigh in.  one of the things i struggle with this time of the year is how to celebrate each birthday without making it so busy that none of us (especially me as the facilitator) gets to enjoy it.  what do you all do?  or how did you celebrate growing up, and how do you do things similarly or differently?

have you met sara bella?

it's no secret anna's long had a love for horses.  we've helped anna carefully and timidly pursue this interest over the past year -- everything from books about horses, collecting mini horse figurines, even signing her up for a mini pony camp where she learns grooming, saddling and first riding skills.  so it's hard to believe we haven't (until now) explored the world of bella sara.

laundry.

there.  the real reason i haven't been blogging.  i'm simply over-run with laundry from our trip back east.  as most of you know, it's not the washing that's hard, thanks to the invention of the washer/dryer.  nope.  it's the folding.  with that, i bring you the following video clip, courtesy of my mom (aka, the laundry queen). :)  enjoy.
